Schuppan News

June 12th, 2010

In addition to the trailer sales, I am now working for Stock Auction and Realty.  If you have any real estate needs including ag land, pasture, or recreational habitat, please contact me.  We also have a unique on line live auction service called Big Iron Auction two times per month and I am the Territory Manager for Adams and Clay counties in Nebraska.  This is a very successful way to sell equipment without the hassle of bringing it to a consignment sale and putting in front of over 11,000 bidders across the world.

Another entity I am involved in is Ag Asset Appraisers.  This is a joint Venture with Travis Augustin and we work together to appraise any type of ag and construction equipment.

I am very excited about these other businesses that I am involved in and it makes a nice compliment to my experience and contacts I have built with my farming and sales experience.  Please feel free to contact me to discuss how I can help you.  308-380-0362.

Hail Sale

July 1st, 2008

Hello everyone!

It’s summertime and everyone is in full swing of the horse show season!  The weather has sure been crazy and Schuppan’s Trailer Sales is no exception!  We had a really bad hail storm on June 22nd damaging most of our trailer inventory.  We are still waiting for the insurance adjusters to stop out and take a look.  As soon as they get an opportunity to view the damage, we will be launching a “Hail Sale”.  We will be discounting these trailers drastically giving you an opportunity to own a new Sundowner trailer with their famous three year hitch to bumber and eight year structural warranty at used inventory pricing!  What a great deal!  So keep checking back to see more details on this great sale!

Thanks for reading and we hope you are enjoying the summer!

The Horse Expo, Triumph of Ag, and True Love??

March 24th, 2008

Hello everyone! Well March was a busy month. We were in Lincoln for the Horse Expo and met some great new people. We are just now catching up with all our leads from the show. The weather was cold, but it didn’t stop the crowd for attending. I met a great couple from Blair, NE. They were in the market for a new trailer. I showed them all the great features and benefits of owning a Sundowner and after viewing everything else at the show, they agreed that the Sundowner was the best. The man’s wife had already started the negotiating with her husband on what all she was willing to sacrifice for her new Sundowner. The couple left, but not before I told them that I would be in Omaha the next week and I would have that trailer on display if they wanted to see it again.

We packed up and went to Omaha as planned the following week. The Triumph of Ag takes place at The Qwest Center. This was the most well-organized event I have ever been to! We got all set up with no troubles and started fresh the next morning. My Cell phone rang and it was the gentleman from the week before asking if I still had that trailer they had looked at from the horse expo. I said “Yes we do!”. He made arrangements to purchase the trailer without his wife knowing since it was her anniversary gift. What a guy!!! Anyway, I agreed to deliver the trailer after the show. Once I was able to take off, I headed for Blair. He had her sitting on the front steps enjoying the nice weather when I pulled up. She looked really confused to see me there until her loving husband leaned in and whispered, “Happy Anniversary”. She was completely surprised and it was a privilege and an honor to be a part of it all.

The March shows were great and sales are picking up. We have had some new inventory show up so keep your eyes on the inventory section and make plans to come and see it for yourself!!

Take Care!!

The Buffalo Bill Farm and Ranch Expo

February 18th, 2008

Hello everyone! Just wanted to tell you about our trip to North Platte, NE. We went to The Buffalo Bill Farm and Ranch Expo. February 6th and 7th. Dad and I haven’t been to this event for several years, but all the show staff was glad to see us again. Its good to be missed! We left home in a blowing snow storm, made it a long trip to North Platte, but we made it without any complications. We seen a lot of our old friends that we have met over the years that attend most of the farm shows across the state. We also met some new ones too! Our Representative from Sundowner, Tim Barron, drove up from Oklahoma to help us out. Always a pleasure having him around, makes the show effortless for us because he is right there to answer any questions we or our customers may have. We had a great show! It is so good to talk to others involved with livestock and hear what they do and the associations they participate in, it is truly a breath of fresh air.

Be sure to come see us at the Nebraska Horse Expo. March 8-10 in Lincoln!! We will have some great trailers for you to look at. You’ll be able to see the quality of Sundowner along with their unmatched curb appeal. Hope to see you there!

ALL ABOUT OUR TRIP, NEW HABIT, AND WHAT’S NEXT!

February 1st, 2008

My wife Lori and I went to the Stock Show in Denver in January. I like visiting the trade show because it gives me the opportunity to see what all the other trailer mfg. companies have to offer and see what is new to the industry. One of the highlights of the trip was attending the Professional Bull Riding Event that was also part of the Stock Show. Lori and I are huge PBR fans and we go to an event every chance we get.

We decided last year that it just wasn’t enough to just be a fan so along with our good friends, John and Sue Utecht, we purchased our very own bucking stock cow and bull calf on her side. We keep them North of North Platte on Mark Ward’s ranch, V Lazy S Bullriding Productions. Mark and his wife Kelly raise bucking bulls and are involved with the Nebraska PBR events. He also supplies bulls for events all over the country. We have lots of fun being involved and have met lots of new friends. Well, that’s probably enough about our sick little habit, back to business! The month of February we will be at the North Platte show on the 6th and 7th. We will have some trailers out there and all our tools with us from quotes to financing. Come and See Us!! We are always glad to meet new people and make new friends and show you what we can do for you and yours. We always invite your comments and questions. Thanks for stopping by our website!

Our Web Site Has a New Look!

January 16th, 2008

Thank you for checking out our new website and blog! We are very excited about our new site and all the exciting things happening at Schuppan’s Trailer Sales! Make sure you check back often, we will keep you informed on what’s new and keep you in the loop on what we have been doing either with our business or if we have had any interesting trips with our horses.

We were trying to find new ways to get the word out to tell everyone that we are Nebraska’s Sundowner Dealer. So I planned a two day trip to Omaha and Lincoln to visit business with similar clientele. I started out in Gretna, NE at the Lucky D Tack Shop. A friendly miniature schnauzer greeted me at the door, and his “Mom” called the owner, Deb, up for me. Had a great visit with Deb. I strongly suggest that if you are in the area to stop by, they are just a mile north of the Gretna exit and their store is loaded with great things! Anything and everything you would ever need when you own a horse or know someone who does.

My next stop was at the Chance Ridge Veterinary Clinic in Elkhorn, NE. They are a full service Veterinary Clinic and also hold many horse related events that W. Burton Smith DVM personally invited Schuppan’s to become a sponsor for in the future. So don’t be too surprised if you see us there this year! Met some of the ladies at the front desk as well, everyone was super nice and looked like they truly loved being a part of Chance Ridge.

My next venture was to Five Star Stables in Bennington, NE. WOW! What a great facility! Amber gave me the grand tour and I was able to sit in on a group riding lesson that Sherman Tegtmeier was instructing. Sounds like they have quite a few events there as well in addition to boarding, training and lessons. I missed the opportunity to meet Sherman’s wife, Sarah, but I did get to speak with her on the phone. Great people!!

I stopped for a quick bite at the local Runza where the lady working there complimented me on my nail color. I told her it was OPI’s latest color called, “I’ve Red The Script”. Can’t get over how nice all these people are here!! Anyway, it was off to my next stop at Nebraska Equine Veterinary Clinic in Omaha, NE and had a great visit with these nice folks also. Sounds like they have some big changes going on for them too. They are moving to a brand new facility soon! I’ll have the information on their new location as soon as they move. They were glad I stopped because they have a lot of clients ask them where to buy trailers and it was a great opportunity to get acquainted.

From there, I headed out to American Legacy Complex. Took a little extra time, apparently the GPS didn’t quite understand where I was going and got me lost!! Might have been my fault, but it is always easier to blame technology! A quick phone call to Dorothy Turley and she got me back on track. This was also a great horse facility. You can enjoy all the comforts of home in their observation room and gaze through the full glass wall into the indoor riding arena. Dorothy’s son gave me the tour and it was great to see so many different breeds of horses in one spot. They do all sorts of fun things there including boarding, lessons, horse shows, and even birthday parties!!

My last stop in Omaha was at Wolf Bros. Western Wear. Tom Kirshenbaum is a long-time acquaintance from the days that I showed the Nebraska Quarter Horse Circuit. Unfortunately I missed meeting up with him that day. I did get to visit with a couple of his knowledgeable staff members and of course, my credit card got abused a bit while I was there. I can’t seem to go through Omaha without spending money at this fine store! Hope to catch you next time Tom. We need to catch up!

The next day, Steve met me in Lincoln to continue the journey. We stopped in at Seville Stables and visited for a while. They were glad we stopped because they already pull a Sundowner and were glad to know where they could now go to get service and warranty work done. This is also an impressive operation and I encourage you to visit whenever you are in town.

After that, we visited another old friend, Kelly Stitch, DVM at their brand new facility Hillcrest Animal Clinic. We have known Kelly for about ten years and we are so happy for her and her business. She was also thrilled we stopped by and gave us the tour. This is a state-of-the-art facility and from the sounds of it, is taking off well. We spent some time visiting and vowed to get together when we were in town for the Horse Expo.

Our final stop was also a long lost friend from my days showing Quarter Horses, Brenda Messick at Messick Tack and Feed. I had never been to her store, and I will not pass through Lincoln again without stopping! She carries tons of inventory, has great sales, and many unique items as well! If you walk in with no plans on buying anything, you’ll find something you just have to have. She and Steve visited about their new found horse hobby, trail riding, and I can see us doing some of that with the Messick’s in the future.

This is just the beginning of our Partners. Keep checking in on our Schuppan Partners Page to get the latest new links to our new friends!
